Born 12 Dec 1939.American neuroscientist and author who studied how the brain enables humans to perform those advanced mental functions that are generally associated with what we call the mind. His most recent research uses three-dimensional magnetic resonance images of the brain's surface to compare normal brains with, for example, those having a mental disorders such as schizophrenia.
