James Watson Cronin

Born 29 Sep 1931.American particle physicist who shared (with Val Logsdon Fitch) the 1980 Nobel Prize for Physics for “the discovery of violations of fundamental symmetry principles in the decay of neutral K-mesons.” Their experiment proved that a reaction run in reverse does not follow the path of the original reaction, which implied that time has an effect on subatomic-particle interactions.
