In 1981, IBM introduced the PC personal computer for $1,600 base price. It shortly eliminated most other machines suitable for home or small business such as those with the S-100 bus, running on CP/M or their own operating system. Data storage choices included 5.25" floppy drives, cassette tape, and later hard disks.«
