Coin-op TVIn 1946, the first U.S. coin-operated television to be publicly exhibited was displayed in New York City. It operated when a 25-cent coin was inserted. The receiver, named the Tradio-Vision, contained 20 tubes and a 5-in cathode ray tube that reflected a 500-line image on mirror on the lid of its metal cabinet (16-in high, 8-in deep, 9-in wide). The manufacturer was Tradio Inc., of Asbury Park, N.J. |
