Calculate the number 364
NUMBERMANIA: Calculate the number 364 using numbers [2, 9, 5, 4, 89, 145] and basic arithmetic operations (+, -, *, /). Each of the numbers can be used only once.
Find number abc
If 70a49 - 4a0c3 = bba36 find number abc. Multiple solutions may exist.
Find the right combination
The computer chose a secret code (sequence of 4 digits from 1 to 6). Your goal is to find that code. Black circles indicate the number of hits on the right spot. White circles indicate the number of hits on the wrong spot.

Researchers for the Massach...
Researchers for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority found over 200 dead crows near greater Boston recently, and there was concern that they may have died from Avian Flu.
A Bird Pathologist examined the remains of all the crows, and, to everyone's relief, confirmed the problem was definitely NOT Avian Flu. The cause of death appeared to be vehicular impacts.
However, during the detailed analysis it was noted that varying colors of paints appeared on the bird's beaks and claws.
By analyzing these paint residues it was determined that 98% of the crows had been killed by impact with trucks, while only 2% were killed by an impact with a car.
MTA then hired an Ornithological Behaviorist to determine if there was a cause for the disproportionate percentages of truck kills versus car kills.
He very quickly concluded the cause: When crows eat road kill, they always have a look-out crow in a nearby tree to warn of impending danger.
They discovered that while all the lookout crows could shout “Cah”, not a single one could shout “Truck.”
Calculate the number 542
NUMBERMANIA: Calculate the number 542 using numbers [3, 9, 9, 6, 94, 390] and basic arithmetic operations (+, -, *, /). Each of the numbers can be used only once.
James Hall Jr.Born 12 Sep 1811; died 7 Aug 1898 at age 86.American geologist and paleontologist who is considered one of the founders of American geology. He invented the term geosyncline and the geosyncline theory for mountain building, which proposed that as sediment is increasingly deposited in a shallow basin, the basin will sink, causing the adjacent area to rise. (This was superseded in the 1960's by the new theories of Plate Tectonics.) In paleontology, he studied the Silurian and Devonian fossils (345 million - 430 million years old) found in New York, and recorded his results in a 13-volume series, The Paleontology of New York (1847-94). Hall was a charter member of the Academy of Sciences.« |
MAGIC SQUARE: Calculate A*B-C
The aim is to place the some numbers from the list (4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 26, 28, 30, 48) into the empty squares and squares marked with A, B an C. Sum of each row and column should be equal. All the numbers of the magic square must be different. Find values for A, B, and C. Solution is A*B-C.
