Sir John Arthur ThomsonDied 12 Feb 1933 at age 71 (born 8 Jul 1861). Scottish naturalist who was a professor of natural history at the University of Aberdeen (1899-1930), and became an expert in the soft corals (Alcyonacea), stinging anemones and jellyfish found in the Scottish marine habitats, as well as a general interest in chemistry and the region's animals, plants and geology.
