### Harvey Fletcher

Born 11 Sep 1884; died 23 Jul 1981 at age 96.American acoustical engineer who was the first to demonstrate stereophonic sound (1934). He was a trail blazing investigator of the nature of speech and hearing, noted for his contributions in acoustics, electrical engineering, speech, medicine, music, atomic physics, sound pictures, and education.
